Introduction

I started this group since Ripley and I both love to hike with other people and their dogs. We enjoy getting to constantly meet new people and get out and have fun with them. We hope to do as many activities with the group as we can!

Please describe the dog(s) you own: name, breed, age, sex, etc... so we can get to know a little more about our new pack member(s)!

Ripley is a male English Springer Spaniel who just turned two in November of '08. Young and bouncy, loves to do anything outdoors. Hiking and swimming are his favorites though!

What are you looking for in a trail club? Describe what you hope to get out of the group and what can you contribute to the group.

Ripley enjoys hiking with other dogs. He loves people of all ages and will cuddle up to anyone with a free hand. He and I both really enjoy getting to know other dogs and owners and I love sharing my local trail knowledge with others.

What does your ideal day outdoors involve? Please give the name and location of your favorite local hike or walk and describe the trail for us. Is it rocky, is there much elevation change, does it involve water, etc...

The Massanutten Mountains in the national forest is our favorite. We love the trails that start in the valley since they almost always have lots of places to splash and get muddy and are often long miles with lots of elevation gain to the ridges.

Have you and your dog(s) earned any titles or are you working towards any titles? Agility, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), working dog, pack dog, water dog, therapy dog, etc... ???

Just joined Dog Scouts of America. Am going to work towards several of their badges. We've done some formal obedience and agility when he was younger. I do hope to get CGC and become TDI certified as soon as he's mature enough.
