Medium Hike - Potomac Overlook Regional Park

Jan 30 Sat 10:00 AM
Location

2758 Marcey Road
Arlington, VA 22207

How to find us
"Meet at the comfort center pavilion. I'll be the one with the gaggle of brindle greyhounds."

While the overlook is overgrown and no longer much of an overlook, the perimeter hiking loop at Potomac Overlook Regional Park is alive with birds wintering over, plentiful information about the park's environment, an active nature center, and some historical interests from early native inhabitants.

The trail ranges over a wide range of elevations and is packed dirt. With the recent thaw and upcoming rains, the trail will be muddy and slick in places. It was passable during a hike, today. There is some uneven spots with tree roots while steeper slopes have timber reinforcements. Please wear sturdy shoes with good traction for this hike. We will follow the Red Maple, Heritage Loop, and White Oak trails.

Parking is available at the comfort center pavilion and should not be an issue during these off season months.
