I know it's been too cold for a while, but it's time to get our poor puppies out to play. Join us at the Manassas Bull Run Trailhead (where Bull Run crosses 28) for a 3-5 mile trek. There will be a group that turns back early (40 minutes max).

Expect OFF LEASH play!

Hey Alex, I'm on Seminary close to 395 if you want to carpool. I know a place I can meet you right off the exit. It's called Seminary Plaza Shopping Center. There's a Suntrust bank there. The address of the bank is 4616 Kenmore Ave 22304. There's a small strip mall and lots of parking. If that works let me know what time you want me to be there.

Utta, I am concerned that this hike might not be a good fit for you. The trail will be extremely muddy and there will be lots of dogs tearing around without their leashes. I don't want your puppy to spend the whole time stressed out. It might not be fair to introduce him to 15 dogs, many off leash, if he is anxious or aggressive.

My dog "Muncie" and I are planning on attending this event. He's an over-sized cocker spaniel w/tons of bear fur. He will bark at all the doggies at first before he warms up to them. Please don't hold this against him. He's a super sweet rescue pup! Just a little fearful :-(

Taking Rt. 28 South from Rt. 66 you will pass the Multiplex Cinema on your right, then a school on your left where there is a traffic light. Green Trails Blvd, I think. The next Traffic light is Compton Road. After you go through this light, be on the lookout. There is a gravel exit to the right just before the bridge over Bull Run.

There are stairs and some sections of steep rocky trail passages. Sections of the trail are very flat. Depending on which way the group goes after getting down to the water, there is also a bridge that kind of leans towards the side and has no side rails.

Agi, looking at the google terrain map it looks very flat. I can't speak for the quality of the trail. Jessica, is this the parking lot you're going to be at http://maps.google.com/maps...

Can someone provide some info about the terrain, level of difficulty? (We'd love to come and play but I'm still nursing a recovering knee). Also, a bit more specific info on location would be appreciated.

I can probably carpool someone if you're somewhere between I395 Exit 2A and the trailhead. I'm willing to go a bit out of the way of course.
