This is a paved path along the edge of Little Seneca lake on the Waters Landing side, and an easy dirt path once inside Black Hill/Little Seneca Park. It is pretty all year round, and easy to access from I-270. I recommend an early start as the path is prettiest in the early morning. The path is shaded all the way in summer.
Since the townhouse I live in is close by the lake, I suggest using my place as a starting point, finishing with coffee, tea and muffins (cool weather) or champagne and orange juice and fruit snacks (warm weather). Let me know if you think this is a good plan. Lindy Some pics on my Facebook page - requires Facebook login Google map and some pics Edited by Lindy Joubert on Jan 25, 2010 8:48 PM |

Lindy, this sounds really interesting and I've never been to BHRP. Do you think there is enough parking on a weekend in or near your community for about 10-15 additional cars? That would be my main concern. Also, I saw some mention there there is a fenced, off-leash dog area inside BHRP. Have you visited it before or observed it when on a walk? Could we consider doing this on a Sunday? This sounds like a great hike and I'd love to be able to attend!

Parking is is tight I admit. There is probably parking inside the community for 5 cars, also some spaces in the next community on Shore Harbor drive - about 5. My unit is accessible from the street via a shortcut, which could account for overflow. There is an off leash enclosure in BHRP. It is not very big though. I confess that I tend to avoid it since I have had 2 bad experiences there - one with a poorly socialized dog, and one that had kennel cough! Needless to say both had the effect of emptying the dog park pronto. |
